CDLLIFE was able to connect with Butler Transport in order to find out more about who they are. We asked Butler a series of questions to help introduce themselves to prospective drivers who may never of heard of them. Here are the questions we asked and what Butler Transport had to say.
In a paragraph or two, take some time and tell our readers a little bit about your company. In other words, who are you and what do you do?
For over 25 years now, Butler Transport’s slogan “Partners In Excellence” has been more than just a motto; it’s been the cornerstone of our success. In your mind, what makes your company unique from all of the other trucking companies that exist?
Founded in 1988, Butler Transport was built upon a spirit of innovation which continues to thrive as an integral part of the company’s culture. In fact, we’ve become well known in the industry as a transportation provider who consistently delivers on its promises and drives value to our customer’s bottom-line. We believe you’ll be hard pressed to find a team of transportation professionals as attentive, responsible and knowledgeable as you will at Butler Transport.
With there being so much competition between trucking companies for experienced drivers why should a prospective driver consider working for your company as opposed to all of the other trucking companies that are looking to hire drivers?
At Butler Transport we believe our Drivers are truly our most valuable asset. We realize that without our team of Professional Drivers, we would not be able to offer the excellent level of customer service that has allowed us to grow and prosper throughout the years.

Can you share with our reader’s some things that they may not know about you?
At Butler Transport, we take pride in being an early adopter of cutting-edge technology. In fact, we implemented equipment tracking and messaging systems in our vehicles in 1989 – a full 10 years ahead of most of our competition. Our innovative spirit and ability to see value, where others only see costs, can be seen today as we have grown into one of the most progressive temperature-controlled transportation companies in the country.
Most of our readers of very aware of the turnover problem that exists within the trucking industry. Generally, what is your company’s thoughts on driver turnover and what is your company doing to reduce the turnover rate at your organization?
We know that we can’t stop turnover, but we think it is very important to note that over 40% of drivers who leave Butler to try somewhere else, come back to Butler! Minimizing attrition is very important to us at Butler Transport. To do so, we offer competitive CPM, a solid benefits package and maintain an open door policy. We utilize pre planning to maximize running potential and keep our drivers is good, late model equipment!
What type of freight does your company haul?
Reefer- Absolutely NO PRODUCE!
What’s the typical running area that your company operates in?
We are licensed to run all 48 but we stay primarily Denver to the East and South of I-80. We have some western runs that go to specific areas: Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Stockton.
As best as you can, can you summarize all of the different truck driving jobs that your company is hiring for?
Company- Owner Operator- Lease Purchase OTR- Regional- Local (promote to local from within)
Can you provide our readers with general information about how your company compensates drivers that work for you?
Great Pay Package! HEALTHY BASE MILEAGE PAY (based on experience)
+.02/mile Bonus for driving 11,000/month and $75/month Bonus for being accident free, $25/month Bonus for staying hours of service compliant and $25/month safety refresher Bonus! Recent Grads start at .36 as a solo driver, after training. Experienced driver pay is based on experience.
What are your minimum hiring qualifications?
• Class A CDL
• Must be able to pass DOT physical
• No DUI/DWI/OWI within 10 years
• Can not be on parole or probation
